Scott and I went to Chicago in January and we had fun in the snow when he wasn't studying something horribly complicated. He took a crazy, intense course for his job and stayed busy most of the time while I caught up on some reading. It was COLD! I am now completely spoiled by the south Texas weather so I instantly froze every time we left the hotel. It was 7 degrees one day! Single digit temperatures are unfamiliar and unwelcome! The snow was really pretty and it was nice to watch it fall from the warm and cozy hotel room.
We ate at Pizzaria Uno, hit the Art Institute for an afternoon, and saw some of our favorite paintings.
We walked along Michigan Avenue and saw the ice rink in Millennium Park. I am fascinated by people who can skate on ICE on a thin little blade and not break something! I've only been ice skating one time and it did NOT go well. Luckily I didn't break anything! This time, I was content to watch the skaters instead of trying it. :-)
The Chicago skyline is one of my favorites! I love visiting the big city!
We had an amazing dinner at Rick Bayless's Frontera Grill. It was probably the best Mexican food I've ever tried and I live in San Antonio! The margaritas were also incredible! ;-) After dinner we went to the Hancock Building Signature Lounge on the 95th floor. The drinks are ridiculously expensive and "fabulous" as they would say in Sex and the City. With the purchase of a drink, you get this view for free!
I'm off to catch up on all my favorite blogs now! I hope all my bloggy friends have been doing well!

Hey Girl,,,,I am so glad you are back. wow that view is awesome, I think I would have lingered there for a couple of drinks.
Isn't Texas weather the best? I just love how quickly they recover from a cold snap.
I've been watching CNN all day....so sad!
Looks like you had a great time! I love the pics of the Art Institute - is it bad that it reminds me of Ferris Bueller's Day Off? :)
Glad you had a great time here in Chicago! I actually got engaged while dining at the Signature Room on the 95th! Love the skyline views, never gets old!
Oh my gosh, what a fun trip!!!
Geof goes to Chicago every year for work and next time, I think I need to accompany him. I’ve never been there, only to Schaumburg which is outside the city.
Aside from the cold, it looks like you two had a great time. I need to give myself a mental reminder for that restaurant because Mexican food tops my list of favorites. The view from that lounge is pretty “fabulous” and worth an expensive drink!
