I've been seeing these on other blogs so I will play along because I am so excited about my new china cabinet! This belonged to my Grandma and it is an honor to have it in our home. When my Grandma passed away 14 years ago, her china cabinet ended up in my uncle's barn. One of my cousins wanted it but it wasn't really her style, so it just kept sitting in the barn. I offered to buy it from her but she let me have it for free! It was covered with a sheet but it looked pretty rough when we first saw it. I cleaned and cleaned and now it looks like this! We brought it in a U-Haul trailer from Oklahoma after our vacation. I was TERRIFIED that all of the glass would break but luckily it was fine because we carefully surrounded it in blankets for the trip.
More good news: The china and crystal also survived the move!!! I did not unpack it until TWO MONTHS after the move! Bad, I know! I was a little scared when I started opening boxes but everything is intact and now it's all in it's happy new home in the china cabinet.
(Waterford Brocade china and Waterford Kelsey platinum crystal)
AFTER I unpacked and positioned all of the china and crystal, I remembered that there is a light on top of the cabinet... with a cord... and an outlet BEHIND the cabinet. Doh. Doh. Doh. So just imagine that the light is on, okay?
