We're getting settled into the new house this week and we survived the big move.
Some stressful things along the way included:

- Picking up a U-Haul an hour from our house in Birmingham.
- Discovering that this was the ONLY 27 foot U-Haul in a 50 mile radius of Birmingham.
- Discovering that this particular U-Haul had NO AIR CONDITIONING, there was more than 100,000 miles on it, it blew smoke and had bald tires, and a transmission that would not shift into overdrive so it would not go faster than 50 mph (before being loaded with everything we own and the tow trailer for the car).
- We did get to exchange this smoke bomb for a replacement U-Haul the next day (which set us a day behind on our moving schedule).
- We did not leave Birmingham until 2 PM when we had planned to leave at 8 AM.
- Made it to Beaumont, TX at 2:30 AM.
- Smuggling 3 giant dogs into a hotel at 2:30 AM is no quiet process. Thank God we didn't get thrown out of the hotel.
But after all of this, I am just so thankful to be in our new house. It's so pretty and I feel incredibly blessed!
I need to buy a scale pronto because the move has been pure gluttony for us. IHOP, Mexican food, BBQ, more Mexican food, pizza, and P.F.Chang's. Mmmmmm.....
We need to find a gym! SOON!

Glad you made it safely, especially after the UHaul disaster! I'm scared I won't even be able to drive one of those things when I have to move next summer.
Hi! I saw you moved to San Antonio - I was there a few years ago when my nephew graduated from AF Basic Training - was lovely but hot as H%^^%$ll! Look for a BBQ place, I think it is called Rudys - WOW! I still remember the meal :-)
