Half Marathon madness and fitness program

I just signed up for another half marathon for the fall. I'm alternating between excitement about running and fear that my body will shut down on me. The feeling of crossing a finish line is addicting and the fall/winter is a perfect time for running. It's too stinking hot to run outside now but I'm already looking forward to the cooler temperatures and the wind in my face.

This fall will be:

Oct 17- Corpus Christi Harbor Half Marathon (just signed up!)

Nov 14- San Antonio Half Marathon

Dec 4- St. Jude Half, Memphis. (Birmingham Book club reunion! Yay!)

I'm still on the fence about the Houston Marathon. I haven't registered yet. It's going to be a stampede huge race and I'm just not sure if that is my first choice for my next marathon. Has anyone done Houston? Thoughts about it? Was it a good experience or would you suggest a different marathon instead?
(Adrienne W., do you really, really want to do this???)

As for other fitness goals, the hubs and I had a free fitness assessment last night at the gym and I'm proud of us both. I felt bad for the hubs because guys have a much lower range for optimal body fat levels but he has come a long way in the past year. My husband has lost about 25 pounds since he started running so he's on the right track. Hee hee, track... Cheesy... yes? Anyway... We both need to work on flexibility, strength, and (I'm still not believing this) VO2 levels?!! We're both "average" for our VO2 which annoyed and surprised me. We run all the time! How can this be true?! We're going to continue our running plans and add in some yoga, pilates, more swimming, and strength training.

What is your exercise routine lately?

You're busier than me! I'm really impressed with you guys.... I can barely run a mile, but mostly because I think it's extremely boring I think. No, I mean I physically can barely run a mile, but I can't work up to longer times because I get bored.
