New house and the longest bike ride ever.

Last week was very busy and exciting because we closed on the new house in San Antonio!
Since we won't see it for another couple of months, I will have to look back at the pictures we took when we were house shopping to share my excitement.

Here's a sneak peak of the new place!

I am SO excited about my dream kitchen!!!

I have been so stressed out about all of the financial obligations associated with closing on the house but everything worked out for us! The closing costs were significantly lower than we thought they would be!!! And... the people who were selling the house are renting it back from us for a few weeks to help with the cost of the mortgage payments until my husband starts his job! Whew... what a relief!

We enjoyed this weekend by going for the longest bike ride of our lives. We rode the entire Chief Ladiga bike trail in Alabama and a little bit of the Silver Comet trail in Georgia for a total of 70 miles on the bike. We stopped for lunch and ice cream at the Solid Rock Cafe in Piedmont. There's nothing like a glass of sweet iced tea!
Here's the bike trail on the Georgia/Alabama state line.

Scott looks pretty hot in his bike shorts here! Ha! They are the most horribly ugly things but after 20 miles on that bike seat, you would want to wear them too.

Here's the proof- 70 miles. Longest ride of my life.

How was your weekend???

That is quite the dream kitchen. How I would love to have an island…sigh. Counter space is something that is seriously lacking in our current home.

That is wonderful news about the closing costs and renting the house out to the old owners. Somehow things seem to have a way of working out.

70 miles on the bike is insane!! Good for you and Scott and thank goodness you made a food stop. You’re so inspiring with your workouts and training!

So glad things are working out so well and you have some relief from the financial stress.

That trail looks so awesome. I need to take a road trip with the bike and go explore it. Congrats on the new distance.
