Counting down to the Nashville Half Marathon!

I just have to survive two more days at work and then it's off to Nashville for a half marathon!

I'm so excited! I love Nashville and always enjoy visiting the city, so the opportunity to run around downtown is going to be a blast!

I just hope the weather forecasts are a big fat lie. Thunderstorms?! Really?!

So, running friends- what do you do if it rains on race day? Wearing waterproof clothing sounds good in theory but don't you just burn up when you start running? How do you keep your feet dry? How will I live without my iPod???

Please rain, rain, stay away... come again but NOT on race day!!!

Will be hoping for great running weather. Gosh, I've never run in a downpour...I guess I'm not a die hard until I do. Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am so excited, a Southern runner, blogger. I haven't come across very many. I ran Nashville last year. It's a fun race. We went to the concert the night after the race.

As for the rain, I would wear a hat, and the rest just get's wet. You can do it. It's actually empowering to run in the rain. You can do it.
Have FUN!

I'm glad you love Nashville. I think it's a pretty fantastic place. One never knows with TN weather in April... it could end up dry as a bone, or there could be a tornado. Guess we'll take it as it comes. I've run several races in the pouring rain, and for me the key is to wear as little clothing as possible (everything will be wet, so it's key to not have a ton weighing you down) and wear a hat to keep the water out of my eyes. I leave the ipod at home. And I wear a garbage bag as a dress until the start so that I'm not wet and cold before i even start running. Have dry clothes in the car and some towels. And your feet will just be wet. :) It's not so bad.

Good Luck this weekend in Nashville! I don't know what to do if it rains, but I hope you have an easy run and your mind is clear. Those are always my biggest obstacles from having a good race.

go get 'em!!
